Landscaping

Bob Kok will be the point of contact for all “common area” landscaping needs. Our landscaper is Acasia Landscaping and they will be providing 60 man hours of service to us a month. All requests for landscaping issues that are not personal should go through Ken Warden at Bob Kok 616-227-0510.

Street Maintenance

Approximately half of the streets in Green Valley are “privately owned”. That means they are owned and maintained by the HOA’s. The other half are “publicly owned“, which means they are maintained by Pima County. Madera Vista is no different; about half of our streets are private and half are public. The private streets in Madera Vista are all of the cul-de-sacs (Caborca, La Paz, and Sabinas), Emilia east of Portillo, and the wide portion of Emilia (the “eyebrow”) on the west side of Portillo.

Maintaining our private streets is a costly proposition. Every year or so, they need to be swept. Every 5-7 years, the cracks need to be filled and the surface sealed against the elements. And eventually, they may need to be replaced. We believe with proper periodic maintenance, our streets should survive for at least another 25 years. Street sweeping expense is budgeted and paid from annual dues. Crack filling and resealing expenses are generally paid from our Reserve Account. Most, if not all, of any eventual replacement of our streets will also be paid for from our Reserve Account.
